Spandrel Panels
Timber party walls and inner gable ends were traditionally constructed on site – and they often posed the most complicated aspect of the roof structure. With their many advantages, pre-engineered timber spandrel panels are fast becoming the go-to solution on all types of construction sites.
The advantages of using spandrel panels include
Significant savings both in terms of on-site labour and project overheads thanks to the reduction of masonry and joinery on site
Spandrel panels can be installed quickly - whilst eliminating the need for masonry walls in the roof space, which can also drive down costs
Spandrel panels are pre-assembled thus reducing onsite waste reduction
There is a reduced need for scaffolding
Spandrel panels provide a weathertight shell at an earlier stage
Using spandrel panels on site reduces the need to work at height for longer, improving the risk to on-site health and safety
All our spandrel panels are designed to the most stringent engineering, acoustic and fire resistant standards, and are factory-manufactured and covered with protective wrapping before delivery to site. This plastic wrapping must then be removed once the roof is in place.
Timber Spandrel Panel- Fermacell Specification
A single 15mm sheet of Fermacell Gypsum Fire board can replace two sheets of plasterboard, giving all the performance you need with less labour time and no need for plastic protection during transit and installation.
Fermacell is made from gypsum and recycled paper fibres. These two natural raw materials are mixed with water, pressed into stable boards under high pressure, dried and coated with a water repellent coating.
Unsurprisingly, Fermacell Spandrel Panels are becoming more and more popular with our roofing customers across the North of England.
