Attic Trusses

An attic truss is also known as a ‘Room-in-Roof’. It is a simple method of providing the structural roof and floor in a single solution. The attic truss is similar to the standard version, but with the distinction that the engineering opens up a space at its bottom centre to accommodate a living space. Webbing above this space and on either side support the roof, providing the homeowner with valuable additional living space making use of what otherwise would be wasted attic space. Our attic trusses can be designed using our MiTek® software to accommodate most roof shapes.

Attic trusses offer considerable advantages over other forms of living roof construction

The trusses usually span from external load-bearing walls, however where possible utilising internal structural walls allows for even greater room widths.

Like standard trusses, they are less expensive than traditional build methods in terms of materials and time on-site.

Room in roof trusses can be erected quickly, offering cost savings for both joinery and project overheads, whilst providing a weathertight shell earlier.

They allow for additional usable floor space without compromising the layout of the lower floors.

A complete structure is provided with a Heywood attic truss solution ready to receive roof finishes, plaster board and floorboarding.
