Here at Heywood Timber Engineering we’ve invested heavily in the most advanced transportation logistics. This ensures our customers enjoy the swiftest possible delivery whilst minimising on-site Health and Safety risks.
Our current delivery is based on a rapid 4-week turn around for all Timber Frame packages – and just 2-week turnaround for all roofing and floor products
Delivery 1 - sole plate
Delivery 2 - Ground Floor Panels and first floor joists
Delivery 3 - First Floor Panels and roof trusses
Staging our deliveries in this way brings many advantages to our customers on site: it helps to reduce additional health and safety demands; it eliminates the need for additional storage space; and it reduces any damages caused during on-site storage. And with our fleet of large transporters, we can deliver each of the above stages to 6-8 plots in a single site delivery.
Process
Our dedicated logistics team complete a delivery schedule one week prior to attending site. Customers are then informed of their allocated slot, by email/ telephone call or SMS. Any changes to delivery can be made at this point.
We appreciate how important it is to you to have a clear indication of exact drop times. So our professional logistics team ring site agents ahead when your delivery is next on the drop list. Working so closely with site enables health and safety aspects of accepting deliveries to be met more efficiently.

Our delivery fleet
The current fleet comprises three Hiab Vehicles (which reduce the need for on-site cranes to unload the delivery), Artics, Class 2 Rigids, and smaller 7.5t Flatbed and Sprinter vehicles for smaller delivery sites. It’s thanks to this impressive and varied fleet of vehicles that we can accommodate almost any size of project or site access restrictions.
Heywood Timber Engineering go the extra mile to work closely with all our customers and meet their individual delivery needs. We’re happy to meet cranes and even lend a hand with unloading if requested when placing your order. We can also incorporate the lifting straps or wrapping of products to assist with unloading or erection.
Our help desk & Delivery Tracking
Fully staffed during delivery hours, our Help Desk is your direct contact point. We’re always on-hand to answer questions and give live updates from our Fleetsmart vehicle tracking system.
